Neves has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, who are thought to be prepared to spend big to land the Benfica starlet. The 19-year-old has refused to commit his future to Benfica but does have a contract with the club until 2028. Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with Neves, who is thought to have a release clause set at €120 million (£102m/£130m).

Matic, who has played for both Benfica and Manchester United during his career, is clearly impressed with Neves but has advised the youngster against a move to Old Trafford at the end of the season. The midfielder believes Neves should stay at Benfica to continue his development and also to play Champions League football, something that's unlikely to be on offer at United next season.
WHAT MATIC SAID
He told : "I think it's too early for him to take that step of leaving. If it were him, I would stay at Benfica for a few more years to play in the Champions League and to mature more. I'm sure his time will come and, therefore, he doesn't need to rush. Joao is already at a big club at this point. I'm sure his future at Benfica will be very good. I think it's too early to leave, but of course, in the end, it's always his decision.
"He is fantastic. At just 19 years old, he is a fantastic player. He is the future of Benfica. Of course he has interested some Premier League clubs too. I really like these types of players, who are young but play with a lot of maturity."

Manchester United do look set for a summer of major change after a poor campaign. Doubts remain over Erik ten Hag's future as manager, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe is hoping to add Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox to his staff. New signings are also likely, particularly in midfield, where a replacement for Casemiro looks to be a priority.
